The Confederates were traitors. They don't deserve statues

Let me get this straight, D. Louise Brown: You're comparing bombing scars from World War II to Confederate statues, correct? Interesting logic (“America shouldn't be in the business of taking down statues,” Aug. 31 Standard-Examiner).

While you were wandering London, did you happen across any Hitler statues? Did you wonder why? Using your thought process, the early pioneers should have erected a statue of former Missouri Gov. L.W. Boggs, as his Executive Order 44 was one of the key reasons the Mormons ended up in Utah.

The Confederates were traitors to our nation. They deserve as many statues as Benedict Arnold. Zero.
