Robert van Beuge

November 12, 1934 ~ June 8, 2018

Robert van Beuge was born in Bandoeng, on the island of Java, Indonesia. The son of Christiaan van Beuge and Johanna Frederika Punt. Robert married Ronnie Adams in 1956, they later divorced. He then married Elizabeth Ann Reynolds on August 10, 1973, in the Ogden Temple. He is survived by his seven children: Douglas van Beuge, Scott van Beuge, Brendon van Beuge, Patrick van Beuge, Susanne Irvin, Derrick van Beuge, Christiaan van Beuge; along with his 16 grandchildren.

Robert had two siblings, Louise (Dennis, deceased) Davis of Overton, NV; and Christiaan, deceased (Betty Jean) van Beuge of Herriman, UT.

He attended school in the Netherlands, serving in both the Dutch Army and Merchant Marines prior to immigrating to the United states with his mother, sister and brother. He then joined the U.S. Navy serving for 35 years, retiring at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. During this time, he graduated from BYU and also retired from Civil Service at Dugway Proving Grounds as a Management Analyst.

Robert loved his family and spent his life serving his country. Robert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

The family is grateful for the love and support given to them from family, friends and neighbors. They would like to express their love and gratitude for the care and tenderness shown by the skilled care providers at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home.

Viewing will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Myers Mortuary, there will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Cemetery.
