UHP identifies Taylor teen killed in Friday crash on I-84

MORGAN — Police have identified a 17-year-old who died in a Friday morning car crash on Interstate 84.

Hyrum Rasmussen of Taylor died on Friday, Nov. 17, when the Hyundai Sonata he was driving lost control, slid sideways and hit the back end of a semitrailer that had pulled off into the eastbound emergency lane of Interstate 84 near Morgan, according to a new release from the Utah Highway Patrol

Slushy road conditions contributed to the crash, UHP said. 

Rasmussen was not wearing a seatbelt. 

The semitrailer driver was not injured in the crash.
